Computer Mouse
If you think that choosing a computer mouse is easy, think again. With so many computer mouse types, brands, features, and designs, you'll find that choosing a mouse is not so easy at all.
Computer Mouse Technologies
There are many types of computer mouse in the market. The most familiar and common are the mechanical mouse, optical mouse, and laser mouse.
- The mechanical mouse is the first computer mouse that came in the market. It's still being used despite the different computer mice available. As you move the mechanical computer mouse on a flat surface, the roller ball located on the underside prompts the rollers inside the mouse to translate the motion to the pointer on screen. A mechanical mouse requires occasional cleaning.
- With optical computer mouse, the roller ball was replaced with a beam of light and optical sensor. It's more efficient than the mechanical computer mouse. Maintenance is significantly reduced, and there's no longer a need for a mouse pad.
- The laser computer mouse uses the latest technology in tracking. Its attributes are similar to the optical computer mouse only that it uses a narrow beam of laser light.
Computer Mouse Types
Apart from the computer mouse technologies, there are also mouse types to choose from.
- Cordless computer mouse
A cordless computer mouse make use of a device that broadcasts a signal. A Bluetooth computer mouse may need USB Bluetooth transceiver in order to work. For it to operate, a cordless computer mouse requires either batteries or power from the computer. - Foot computer mouse
For those who are unable to use their hands to manipulate the usual computer mouse, a foot computer mouse may be used. With a foot computer mouse, the user will be able to control the mouse using his or her feet.
